3 Most Popular Plastic Surgeries This Summer
As the weather continues to heat up, it is only fitting that people everywhere are looking to get as hot as the weather without the downtime and recovery of body surgery. Hence, why popular plastic surgery procedures in the summer months always lean towards highlighting the face.
Most people can expect to spend a lot of time in bathing suits, shorts, or dresses which means there is less time to recover from more invasive surgeries. Further, because of the heat and humidity, surgical procedures can be more challenging to recover from.
In our practice at Wellspring Plastic Surgery, we anticipate increased injectable fillers, non-surgical fat reduction, and rhinoplasty (nose jobs). These three popular plastic surgeries are less invasive but provide impactful results!

In our practice at Wellspring Plastic Surgery, we anticipate increased injectable fillers, non-surgical fat reduction, and rhinoplasty (nose jobs).
INJECTABLE FILLERS
Injectable fillers, the non-invasive plastic surgery trend we see all over social media. Fillers are growing in popularity for an excellent reason as they are the quickest non-surgical correction for facial wrinkles and folds. Dermal fillers work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid that naturally exists in the body.
Dermal fillers can help restore volume, diminish wrinkles and generate a natural and more youthful look without invasive surgery that requires downtime and recovery. Immediate results and no rest? Yes, please!
Filler can be used on the nose, tear trough, nasolabial folds, jawline, chin, temple, cheeks, kips, and jowls. One of the most popular areas we see trending is in the lips (adds volume and plumpness).
Note that the amount of filler needed will differ depending on the patient and the size of the treatment area.
Don’t worry too much beforehand about the amount of filler or even where! When you come in for a consultation, you will discuss your aesthetic goals with one of our practitioners, and we will answer all of your questions in detail.

NON-SURGICAL FAT REDUCTION
Non-surgical fat reduction, also known as CoolSculpting, is based on the science that proves that fat is susceptible to temperature, particularly extreme temperatures. When fat cells are frozen, they crystalize and go through apoptosis (cell death).
The CoolSculpting machine uses controlled cooling to freeze and kill unwanted fat cells in patients. When the frozen fat cells die off, the body naturally eliminates them—leaving the skin tighter and toner than before.
CoolSculpting can target any area on their body that can be pinched! Some of the most popular places people like to treat are the double chin, inner or outer thighs, stomach, love handles, and back bugle. Depending on the targeted area’s size, you will need between two and four treatments to experience permanent results. With a healthy lifestyle and weight maintenance, the results from CoolSculpting are permanent, and the treated fat cells are gone for good.
The procedure is entirely non-invasive and feels to most like pulling, tugging, intense cold, or stinging. However, it is altogether bearable!
Results are visible four weeks post-treatment. However, most patients see a peak fat loss around week eight, and by 12 weeks post-treatment, patients experience complete fat loss in the treated area.
During your consultation, your technician will assess the site and provide an optimal recommendation specific to you. Make sure to research and prepare for your consultation so you know the correct answers to ask and can make the most of your time!

RHINOPLASTY
Rhinoplasty, also widely known as a nose job, is primarily used to improve the facial structure, correct a deformity on the nose, or correct breathing problems.
Rhinoplasty procedures are generally available in two primary forms. First, open rhinoplasty is performed if nose reshaping is desired. In this procedure, the surgeon performs a vertical strip incision in between the nostrils that will open a view of the complete nasal anatomy.
If a more moderate reshaping is desired, the surgeon can apply incisions within the nose. The next step is removing the skin from the cartilage and bone of the nose with modifications to the cartilage and bone reshaped, removed, or increased as desired. Depending on the patient, the procedure can take anywhere from one to two hours.
Recovery will always vary from patient to patient, but it generally takes roughly six weeks for the bones in your nose to heal following surgery in most patients. You will likely need to take a week or two off work post-surgery and expect to return to work by week three post-operation, and at around week four post-surgery, most patients feel back to normal.
*Between 6 and 12 months, most patients are cleared to get back to contact sports
