Want to know more about undergoing a breast augmentation at Wellspring Plastic Surgery?    Your interest is well-timed, since we are proud to offer 15% off of the procedure.  Here are answers to 10 commonly asked questions regarding breast augmentation:

1) What is the length of surgery?  Breast Augmentation typically takes 1-1.5 hours.

2) Will I be awake for surgery?  No.  Patients are fully asleep, and undergo general anesthesia.

3) Do I have to stay in the hospital afterwards?  This procedure is called “out-patient,” meaning that you get to go home on the same day as your procedure.

4) What can I expect shortly after surgery? The first thing that you will notice is an immediate enhancement in breast volume.  Patients also experience temporary swelling, mild bruising, and some pain (for which you will receive pain medications to help make you comfortable).

5) What is the recovery? Most patients return to work within 3 days to 1 week, and can advance to more strenuous activity within 2-3 weeks.

6) Do the incisions need to be on my breasts? No. Most breast augmentation patients are candidates for an endoscopic procedure which hides the incision in the armpit and uses a small camera to place the implants.  For more information about incision placement, click here.

7) Will I see results immediately?  Yes, an immediate enhancement in breast volume will be evident. That said, it usually takes 6-8 weeks for the implants to completely descend into their final position and for the swelling to resolve.

8) What is the cost of surgery?  Prices vary greatly based on whether a patient needs an augmentation alone or an augmentation and a lift, and vary on whether silicone or saline implants will be used.  Let our office know your interests, and we can share specific pricing based on your individual interests.

9) Is it possible to get a tummy tuck and breast implants at the same time? Yes, this is a common combination, and for women seeking this combination after pregnancy it is often referred to as a “mommy makeover.”
