If you’re headed into your plastic surgeon, or dermatologist’s, office for a little Botox to soften fine lines and wrinkles, you might be in store for an added bonus.

Research now indicates that Botox may help shrink the size of large and unsightly pores.

Botox injections to eliminate wrinkles continue to be the most popular non-invasive cosmetic treatments sought out by people year-after-year (according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons).

Now Botox being administered to the oilier areas of the face (where wrinkles aren’t as typical) such as the T-Zone (top of forehead, bridge of nose, and chin) can ever-so-slightly manipulate the way that the oil glands work. This causes them to produce less oil, tighten up, and effectively shrink the size/appearance of traditionally large and oil-packed pores.

This treatment is starting to be referred to as “micro-Botox,” in that smaller amounts are used as well as a finer needle for the injections.

Like regular wrinkle-fighting Botox, this procedure only takes a few minutes in a physician’s office, and there is minimal to no recovery time. Smoother skin, and tighter pores are visible almost immediately.

Smoother skin as a result of fewer wrinkles, and smaller pores, provides a better canvas for your make-up and other skin enhancing treatments.

As most Botox injections last for only about four months, you’ll want to keep up treatments to maintain that glow.
